Burn Your Cape with Dretona Maddox, CEO & Founder of Purposely Chosen Inc.

Motivated by hardship, Dretona Maddox, RN, PHN, LCSW survived homelessness as a teen stifled by life and forced by circumstances to abort her first child at 15. She crushed all her adversity going on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California.

Maddox’s challenges were the catalyst to her life’s work dedicated to trailblazing as an in-demand public speaker, a Teen Parent Advocate®, and the founding Executive Director of Purposely Chosen, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides support and advocacy services to pregnant/parenting teens in foster care, that includes two maternity homes in Southern California.

Working over 25 years as both a nurse and nurse social work practitioner, Dretona balances her love for impacting lives with supporting her husband of 27 years, Keith L. Maddox, a family of six, and three beautiful grandchildren.
